This modern backyard cabana functions as a communal space and a sweet escape from the anxieties of city life.

Designed for a young family with outdoor living in mind, we replaced a decrepit, two-car garage with a new structure that now embraces functional minimalism, natural materials and a soothing palette. Divided into two distinct sections, the cabana’s pool-facing facade features a double sliding glass door for easy al-fresco entertaining. In contrast, the driveway-facing front on the opposite side features a generous storage space accessed through a garage door.

With an interior dressed in the chic combination of black and white, the cabana's timelessness continues with the exterior's sustainable and durable composite cladding — built to stand the test of time.
